I AM FREE

Wake me up
When morning comes,
And I draw breath
In excess.
The cries of the hummingbirds
Gliding through the morning sky,
The whispers of the wind
Through the crevices of my soul.
Dawn breaks,
And the suns majestic flames
Thread the distance
On its canvas, the earth.
I watch closely,
With my eyes
Bundled up in awe,
In solitude, in peace.
I see the ocean in the distance;
Listen, to the waves as they break land,
Aggressive in their wake,
Calm in their recourse.
Oh to be a falling star
In the night sky;
Oh to be favoured
By God and the angels.
I want to fly into the sunset,
And feel the warm embrace of the sun,
I want to roam the skies,
And feel the gaze of the heavens above.
I do not want to know
What tomorrow holds.
I do not want to live this life
As a prisoner.
Aurora, she is called;
“The light of life”.
I wish her embers would grace me
At least once before I die.
I wish, I wish,
I wish to be free,
Much like the beasts in the wild
Embraced by Mother Nature
In her soft entrails.
I wish to lay in the green fields
Once again
Recalling the
Happiest memories.
In her arms where I found comfort,
I reminisce;
And like a flood after drought,
I am filled with ecstasy.
I breathe the breath of life
She offers
Through, and through, and
I am alive as day.
Finally, I walk my path,
One predestined
By 'them' and;
I fulfill my hearts desires with grace.
I am content,
I am loved,
I am safe,
I am free.
