WHO AM I?

Who am I?
Who am I to judge you
For your past,
And the life
Bestowed upon you.
Who am I to decide
The constructs of right and wrong,
The norms
By which we live by.
Who am I to bear you Ill intent
In your safe place
Your own home
Your mind.
I fall, stand, fight, win.
Who am I to hate you
For the things you cannot control.
The dim-glowing ember
Being shadowed by fear.
Who am I
To watch you drown in despair,
And cower in silence
While you sink into the unknown?
I will reach my hands into the fiery glaze of hell
And will pull you out
My scars will tell my story
Not of belonging, but resolve.
I decide my worth,
I control my perception.
In reverence of being blessed
With this sacred treasure,
I will honour them
By staying true.
I do not confirm to the ideals of the past.
I need to embrace the ideals of the future.
In time you too will understand
Who you are.
You define your purpose, and
Only you can control your narrative;
But before you do
You must own it,
And before we own it,
We must understand
What was, what is,
And what will be.
